The students of Baruch College's Caribbean
Student Association, which is located in the heart of Manhattan, kept their Annual Cultural
Night on Friday May 4.
Mason Hall was a sold out venue that featured
fashion and dance performances with designers like Miko Underwood, Buba, Carmen Webber,
Pela and more who took their styles of urban wear, sexy sophisticated lingerie, survivor
and club wear to the runway. In between the fashion show we were entertained with
different flavors of Caribbean dance and music.
When Barbados Road march king Rupie entered the stage the massive launched out of their
seats to the stage area with their various flags, representing their national pride
dancing and singing to his intoxicating sounds.
The headliner for the night was no other than Bounty Killer who entered the stage with his
famous black outfit ala Darth Vader. He had the crowd up on their feet with tunes like
"Eagle and the Hawk", "Anytime" and had the audience singing word for
word during his performance. At the closing of his set he invited one of the hottest
talent on the scene right now, Wayne Marshall to perform a duet on the trilogy rhythm
entitled "Smoke Clear".
Overall this was a spectacular event which I hope to see in the years to come.
