CapletonCapleton – ‘The Prophet’ and Tanto Metro & Devonte were the all star performers for the Dancehall nights at Summer Fest ‘99.

Thursday night was dubbed Zim Zimmer night and had what I thought to be the most impressive line-up of the two Dancehall nights. Comparing the attendance of both nights it was obvious that the dancehall crew also thought Thursday night was more worth the $800JA. Beenie Man, Spragga Benz, Baby Cham, Mr. Vegas, Sean Paul, Zebra and Tanto Metro & Devonte were among the acts to bring the house down at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay.

However, the night belonged to Tanto Metro & Devonte. They gave anBeenie exemplary performance proving that they have both lyrics and showmanship to move the crowd. Beenie Man gave a stellar performance as usual and it is becoming apparent that Baby Cham with his versatility and ability is becoming a hard act to follow.

Friday night was dubbed Caan Believe Mi Eyes with headliner Bounty Killa. Capleton , Scare Dem Crew, Tony Curtis, Merciless, and Tanya Stephens were some of the acts that performed on Friday night.

Devonte. Scare Dem Crew’s performance was breathtaking with the usual antics by Elephant Man (I’m afraid one day he’ going to hurt himself jumping off stage into the crowd and climbing onto speaker boxes). They were well received.

Capleton entered the stage and there was fire all over. TantoHe was spitting his usual musical fire while his hordes of fans manifested his fire burning condemnation with ‘x-amount’ of blazing torches throughout Catherine Hall. Bounty Killa gave a professional performance and the place went into a frenzy when he did his latest hit Look Into My Eyes on Dave Kelly’s latest, "Bug" riddim.

Despite Zim Zimmer night having a more impressive line up, it was Caan Believe Mi Eyes night that had the more vibes and was well worth the $800JA.

Jah Know Capleton a gwaan !
